NuStar Technologies Pte Ltd in cooperation with Denmore Technologies (DTL) based in Aberdeen and Yokogawa Singapore have successfully completed integration of a fully upgraded well intervention controls package for the East Asian subsea market in under four months.
The scope involved refurbishment of a deep-water LRP/EDP package and upgrading of subsea & topside controls to latest open architecture Ethernet based technologies. This included new subsea electronics, new high speed Ethernet over power line communications, new electrical and hydraulic power unit (HPU) controls and new SCADA system.
SCM upgrades, HPU upgrades, SCADA programming and system integration were completed in Singapore with design & manufacturing of the new upgraded subsea controls package being completed in Aberdeen.
NuStar Managing director Mr KK Goi commented: “We are delighted to have completed this project very smoothly and in record time and within a tight budget along with our partners and client. We achieved this by very close cooperation and a clear definition of work scope proved to be essential due to onerous Covid 19 restrictions”.
“This project follows on from an extensive independent qualification programme to ISO 13628 standard at TuV laboratories in Singapore through 2018 and 2019”.
“This new open system architecture based on Ethernet based technology delivers a long and robust life extension for this type of system, replacing now obsolete proprietary systems that are no longer supported”.
“With this key project now successfully delivered we are ideally placed to offer a highly cost effective and robust solution for many subsea applications for Oil & gas and other sectors”.br>
Having completed this project NuStar are now working with their partners on a major new ultra-deep-water development scheduled for delivery in 2022.
